“I am on the water more than I am at home. I have over 100 ‘satisfying days’ each year. Fishing is, in a way, a series of repetitions, yet every trip always brings something new. Sea trout fishing is a continuous process of development—you are never truly finished.”

“Success in fishing begins with believing that you can do it. You have to believe that the sea trout is there and that it will strike on the very next cast. Without that belief, sea trout are rarely caught.”
Local knowledge
In our opinion, the single most important factor influencing your success in sea trout fishing is knowledge—especially local knowledge.
Saaremaa has approximately 400 km of fishable coastline. No matter when you come here to fish for sea trout, there are always good fishing spots to be found. Instead of spending valuable fishing hours on “trial and error,” we recommend leaving personal experimentation for later and learning sea trout fishing from local anglers. Local fishing guides can give you a strong start.
- The guide (Madis Teesalu) has 25 years of sea fishing experience.
- The guide’s role is to take you to promising fishing spots, taking weather conditions into account.
- The guide can introduce you to Estonian recreational fishing regulations.
- The guide speaks Estonian, English, and Finnish.
- The guide can teach spinning and fly fishing techniques year-round.
- The guide promotes ethical and responsible treatment of fish and nature.
- The guide is there to help you achieve the best possible results in sea trout fishing.
