WINTER FISHING

Fish tend to stay in sandy-bottomed bays and move less. In winter, their activity level is low.

Since the fish are passive, the angler needs to be more active—moving around a lot to locate them. In winter, the best fishing time is midday, when the air is at its warmest.

In addition to spinning, you can also try fly fishing during winter. The lure action should be slower, and the lure itself smaller, as fish tend to prefer smaller prey at this time of year.
